Just thought those who don't get the Middlebridge

Subject: [Mid] Auk Update

Due to incredible scientific experiment, the Auk is
back from 
extinction. 
He is waddling down from the Knowne Worlde
Regeneration Centre in 
Ealdormere, looking for the guy at the Uof I who came
up with the idea. 
We 
expect him to hit Urbana sometime in January. He is
armed, and the 
experiment did not create a female bird. He is
upset...

Yerp. The Thirty-Third Festival of Maidens: Attack of
the Auk will be 
taking place in Urbana on 21 January. We've just
updated the web page 
(or 
will soon): http://www.wurmwald.org/maidens.html
Please note that the 
phone 
number for the Historic Lincoln Hotel has changed.

We still need teachers and someone to run youth
educational activities. 
And 
we are holding the traditional garb-a-beastie contest.
We will be 
posting 
the rules and theme a little later, but the beastie
will be an auk (or 
penguin or waddle; look it up if you think I'm
kidding). We will have a 
limited number of penguins available for sale. All
monies will be going 
to 
the Red Cross.

In the meantime, if you see a plump black-and-white
flightless bird 
waddling down the streets in your home town, see if he
has a sword. 
Then be 
afraid...
