Greetings to all our friends! To celebrate the springtime (and the end of the semester) the Shire of St. Carol on the Moor will be hosting a Potluck Picnic & Fighter practice on Sunday April 30th, from 2pm - 7pm, at Morton Park South Pavilion in Charleston, IL. (Directions below.)
St. Carol will provide burgers & dogs to be grilled, as well as buns & lemonade. We ask that you bring a side dish or dessert to share. Tableware will be provided. Garb is optional. Bring your fighting gear or your projects to work on, or just bring yourself and come and join us for an afternoon.
Please email me at tstrong at cell1net.net if you are planning on joining us, so we can be sure and have enough meat to go around. We look forward to seeing you!

DIRECTIONS: (from north or south) Take best route to I-57 and exit at Charleston exit. It is a good 8 or 9 miles into Charleston. You will be coming into town on Route 16 which is also Lincoln Avenue. You will pass several stoplights. Eventually you will come to a stoplight for Division Street. McDonald's will be on your right. You will see the park to your left. KEEP GOING, and turn left at the next street, which will not have a stoplight. This is called 2nd Street. The first pavilion you will see, with a large stone fireplace, is where we will be. There is parking along the side of the park close to the pavilion, and a lot just across 2nd Street with lots of parking.
To our friends coming from West - Take best route to Route 16 into Charleston...follow directions above.
From the east - Take best route to Route 16 into Charleston, which is Lincoln Avenue. You will go through several stoplights. Eventually you will come to stoplight for Fourth Street (you will just have passed EIU Old Main castle building on your right.) KEEP GOING. Look for 2nd Street to your right--it will be just past a parking lot, right before you reach the park.
This is the same location we have used in the past, so if you have joined us before, you may recognize it. If you get lost or have questions, please call my cell at 217-549-6523 and I'll be glad to talk you in.
